06 Mar 1796. LETTER WITH REQUEST FOR A LOAN. Bundle 61, Doc 15. 33 cm x 20.5 cm, folded in half to make four pages. The two inner pages were left blank. Remains of a black seal with corresponding hole where it was broken open. John LAMBERT 6. March 1796 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mr: J. OLDMAN Edenhall Cumberland ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bolton March 6. 1796 Sir Being under a necessity of renewing a Mortgage which I have upon my Estate, I hope if you have Money by you, you will do me the favour to lend me the Money for the term of three Years, at the Expiration of which I intend to sell, shou’d you not have the Money by you shall take it as a favour to recommend me a person that can lend me the Money, and also at what rate per cent. I can have it at, as the Sum wanted is 860£ £ your answer as soon as possible, will much oblige your humble servant [signed] John LAMBERT
