08 Jun 1790. LETTER REQUESTING LOOK-UP IN SOULBY COURT ROLLS. Bundle 61, Doc 40. 20.5 cm x 20.5 cm. Remains of a red seal. John JOHNSON [corrected from JOHNSTON] 8th. June 1790 ~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brough June ye 8th. 1790 Mr ALMOND [sic] Theas is to inform you that some time ago I aplied to Mr DOBSON and your self about some freehould land att Sowelby but now I have made itt out that Mr THORNBERY wich has half of the free land with me has Sold a part of my property lying in a place caled green lands to one Mat~ BOUSFIELD for Tenanright wich is plainly made out that a part of itt is free so I desire the faviour if you can find in the Curt Rowels where the free Land all lyes itt was purchesd last by Either Ed: or John THORNBERY about Sixty years ago if you will be so kind as to find aney thing out & bring itt up to Sowelby Curt I will pleas you for your noble and shall take itt as a perticler faviour I am Sir your very humble Servt [signed] John JOHNSON
