Ladfoot Bridge &cc ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To Mr OLDMAN at Edenhall Cumberland with care ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wharton – Nov 5th 1789 Sir I thought you could like to know how we came on with your Work in this part, as soon as ever the weather did premit we spared John DAWSON last House and it was slated long since that building is likewise all Joysted and the granery floor laid wood is got cut down and led for all the Racks, the Bridge at Ladfoot is finished all but the hebel part set on and we have been clear of all frost but we fell short of Arch Stones we wear oblidged to quare some, John DAWSON has been angrey with us that his Hemel Racks was not put up and said he wood complain of us to you becaus we told him planly we wood finish the bridge befor we did the Racks, we have had such a season for working at the door since Brough hill as I never knew scarse one fair day for my part I have got so wet as threw the Ruemateck pains into my Back and has been of Work for a whole week but thank god I am much better and you may depend upon it your work shall be finished with all posable speed, when all finished will give you a Line from your Humbel Servant to command [signed] Thos HAMILTON
