28 Jul 1777. SOLICITOR’S LETTER ABOUT COURT CASES. Bundle 62, Doc 11. 40 cm x 25 cm, folded in half to make four pages. The two middle pages are blank. Large hole and tear where red seal was torn open with some loss of writing. [Co]py Mr. GRAHAM of Mr. MORGANs 28. July 77. Letter ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To Mr. DOBSON at Edenhall – [Straight line stamp:] CARLISLE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ (A Copy) Sir / The Indictments are not to be tried, therefore we have Countermanded – CARTWRIGHT against GREENs – This Action must be tried. I hope all things are ready, wish you Success ~ There is no Clerrical mistake as to the Indictments 16th. & 17th. years – that difference is owing to the different time of Joining Issue, but as they stand over, I say no further as to those Causes ~ In the above action you will give a Brief to Mr. WALLACE ~ suppose Sir Philip settled those particulars when in Cumberland ~ Sir Philip has just now been with me and hopes for Success in our Action against GREENs ~ [ ]t James GRAHAM Yours [ ]w – Carlisle – J: M: Cumberland July 24th. 1777.
