01 Aug 1694. DEED OF SALE FOR MANSION AT APPLEBY. Bundle 3, Doc 12. Torn into two parts, each approx. 38 cm x 23 cm. Extremely poor condition, with multiple tears along file folds and edges crumbled away with some loss of written area, particularly in the middle of the original document where the edges of both parts have crumbled away. Ralph HALL to Hugh HUGILL 1694. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Know all men by these presents That whereas Thomas RICHARDSON lait of the Burrow of [ C]ounty of Westm~land yeom~, by his Deed Poll beareinge date the twelfth day of September Anno d~nj 1684 [ ] for the Consideration of the sume of One hundred and ten pounds therein menconed Hath [ ]ened Bargained Sould infeofed and Confirmed unto me Ralph HALL of Julian Bowre in the said County of W[ ] yeom~ All that his Mansion house or Burgage Situate at the Foot of Doomesgait w[ ] litle Croft or Garth thereto belonging, within the said Burrough of Appleby, (with other premises therin Menconed) A[ ] the said Deed Poll more yt E**** Appeares And whereas the said Deed Poll [ ] was afforesd And the livery & seizin thereof given, was made sealed & given unto me Ralph HALL & My h[ ] Aforesaid, Onley in trust, bu[ ]eally and in truth for the sole And [ ] ******* ******** & his heirs and Assigne[ ] other Use [ ] And the sume of One hundred & ten pounds paide for the same, was the pnq[ ]e And by his Lord~pps Order delivred to me (beinge his servant) for ye use aforesd And whereas the [ ] by his Deed of Feofmt or Deed Poll under his hand & seale at Armes bearinge [ ] fiveth [?] day of May now last past before the date hereof, Hath for the Consideracon therein menconed given, grantted, Alliened Bargained Sould & Confirmed [ ] Hugh HUGILL of Bames Pew [?] Milne in the said County Maltster the abovesd Mansion house [ ] Maulthouse thereto Adjoininge with the fould Garden, & Croft or Garth neare the Riveir Eaden, there [?] with All and [ ] Buildings, houses gardens Walls Wayes Easm~ts and Appurt~s thereto belonginge, To Have & [ ] said Hugh HUGILL his heires and Assignes for ever Now Know yee that I the said Ralph HALL at [ ] And by the Order of the said Earle Have remised released and for ever quite[ ]seats do remise release & for ever quite Claime, unto the said Hugh HUGILL (in his full & p[ ] possession beinge) And to his heires, And Assignes for ever All my right tithe intrest, [ ]mand whatsoever of in and to All the abovesd Mansion house or Burgage with ye Maulthouse thereto Ad[ ] And to the fould Garden Croft or Garth abovesd with their & Any of their Appu[ ]id Ralph HALL nor my heires or Assignes or any Clameinge by from or under us or any of us shall or may[ ] any time hereafter have Clame Challenge or demand any right estait or intrest th[ ]ereof But from all action, of right Estate title intrest of in or to ye same or any part thereof [ ] shall and will utterly Excluded, and Debared by these presents for ever [ ] HALL doe for me my heires ex~tors & Adm~trs Covenant grannt and Agree to and with the said Hugh HUGILL his [ ] heires and Assignes by these presents that he the said Hugh HUGILL his heires[ ]ssignes And every of them shall and may at all time & times hereafter Have Hold Use [ ] All and every the premises above released or menconed or intended to be [ ] their [ ]very Appurtc~s, without ye let suit trouble Mollestacon or incumbrance of me the said Ralph HALL my heires or Assignes or any Clameinge, or to Clame by from or under us or a[ ]n Wittnesse whereof I have here unto set my hand, and seale the first day of August in the Sixth year of the Raigne of our Sovraigne Lord & Lady William & M[ary ] of God of England Scotland France, And Ireland King and Queen Defenders of the faith et[ ] Annoque D~nj 1694. / Sealed Signed & delivred or stamped [signed] Ralph HALL paper in the presence of us. / [signed] [John] HARISON [of John, the tops of J and h are visible as well as the n] [signed] [ ]ry [ ]ALL [could be Mary HALL] [signed] Thos.
