05 Nov 1864. POST MESSENGER’S PAY. A clean and neat receipt. 4” x 6”. Edenhall. Nov. 5th. 1864 Placed to the a/c of Sir Geo. MUSGRAVE, Bart. the sum of one guinea, being one yearly payment due, on the 22nd of October, to John WILLIAMSON, Post Messenger, for taking charge of private-letter-bag to and from Penrith, the said 21s/- being this day paid to him (per Mrs. HETHERINGTON) by [signed] Thos. BOWSTEAD
